RUAG Achieves Milestone: 8-Year Maintenance on Russian Challenger 850 Completed!
RUAG Aviation Successfully Completes 96-Month Check on Bombardier Challenger 850
Emmen, Switzerland – June 20, 2016: RUAG Aviation has successfully finalized a comprehensive 96-month check on a Russian-registered Bombardier Challenger 850. This achievement was completed precisely on schedule and left the customer fully satisfied.
The seamless experience provided by RUAG Aviation, known for its one-stop shop expertise, played a crucial role in the project’s success. The MRO service provider proudly announces the newly acquired unlimited approvals from the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency, affirming their capability for servicing Russian-registered civil aircraft.
The delivery of the Bombardier Challenger 850 took place at RUAG Aviation’s facilities in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. The extensive maintenance check was executed between February 1 and April 11, 2016. “This 96-month check is a significant milestone for us,” remarks André Ebach, General Manager of Business Jets at Oberpfaffenhofen.
According to Ebach, “Our Russian client demanded strict adherence to deadlines and full on-site representation throughout the project. We embraced this transparency, which fostered a constructive dialogue with our customer, marking our first official utilization of our unlimited certification rights for Russian civil aircraft.”
The Bombardier Authorized Service Centre in Oberpfaffenhofen completed the maintenance check on time, overcoming various challenges that could have jeopardized aircraft availability. These challenges included complex structural discrepancies, unique cabin interior features, and the need for out-of-production replacement parts.
“Our dedicated aircraft project team successfully navigated these issues. At RUAG Aviation, we offer comprehensive solutions that enabled our team to address the full scope of the MRO project, adhering to the scheduled timeline. We also implemented double shifts to ensure timely completion,” asserts Ebach.
Recently, RUAG Aviation secured full indefinite certification approvals from the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) for Russian-registered civil aircraft, as announced on May 20, 2016.
With its one-stop shop offerings, RUAG Aviation provides a variety of services including MRO, cabin interiors, aircraft painting, system upgrades, FBO, and consulting, all tailored to fit individual client schedules.
