Saab has officially secured a follow-up agreement with the United Arab Emirates for the acquisition of two GlobalEye systems, Saab’s cutting-edge airborne surveillance solution.

The value of this order stands at $1.018 billion, spanning the contract period from 2020 to 2025.

The initial agreement with the United Arab Emirates concerning GlobalEye was established in 2015. This new contract serves as an enhancement to the original signed in 2015.

“We take pride in the ongoing trust the United Arab Emirates places in Saab and our innovations. This reflects that Saab remains at the forefront of advanced technology. The GlobalEye initiative is progressing as planned, and we maintain efficient collaboration with our client,” states Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab.

Operations will be conducted in Gothenburg, Linköping, Arboga, Järfälla, and Luleå, Sweden, as well as Centurion, South Africa.

The agreement was finalized by the client on the 30th of December 2020, thus the order was documented during the fourth quarter of 2020.

GlobalEye offers simultaneous aerial, maritime, and terrestrial surveillance capabilities. It integrates advanced radar technology with the ultra-long-range Global 6000 aircraft from Bombardier.
