Poland Enlists Saab for Cutting-Edge Aerial Surveillance Aircraft

Saab has secured a contract from Poland’s Ministry of National Defence for two Saab 340 Airborne Early Warning (AEW) aircraft. The contract value is roughly SEK 600 million, and the duration extends from 2023 to 2025.

These airborne surveillance systems consist of the Saab 340 aircraft outfitted with Saab’s cutting-edge Erieye radar technology. The agreement also encompasses ground systems along with domestic logistics and support services.

“Saab has maintained a robust partnership with the Polish Ministry of National Defence for numerous years. We take pride in further enhancing Poland’s Armed Forces with our airborne early warning and network-oriented solutions,” states Carl-Johan Bergholm, head of Saab’s Surveillance division.

Saab 340 AEW, along with supplementary ground technology, delivers an in-depth situational awareness that can be utilized for both military and civilian operations, including air surveillance and emergency response missions.

Various versions of Saab’s Erieye AEW/AEW&C system have been acquired by nine nations, establishing it as one of the most widely adopted airborne surveillance systems globally.
