Saab Secures Deal for Third GlobalEye: A New Era of Innovation with Swedish FMV

Today, Saab has finalized an agreement with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for the supply of a third GlobalEye airborne surveillance and command aircraft to Sweden. The contract value is approximately SEK 2.6 billion, with deliveries scheduled between 2024 and 2029.

This acquisition is based on an option included in Saab’s agreement with FMV from June 2022, which encompassed two GlobalEye units and options for two additional aircraft. The Swedish designation for GlobalEye is S 106.

“We are honored to bolster Sweden’s military capabilities with yet another GlobalEye aircraft, which will offer unparalleled situational awareness of the environment along with the ability for early detection and notification of possible threats in the air, at sea, or on land,” states Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab.

GlobalEye represents a cutting-edge multi-domain AEW&C solution featuring a suite of active and passive sensors that ensure long-range detection and identification of entities in the air, at sea, and over territory. By delivering real-time intelligence to air force, army, and navy units, GlobalEye facilitates improved situational awareness and early identification of dangers.
