“Safran and AOI Forge Partnership for Larzac Engine Care in Egypt”
During the Egypt International Airshow, the Egyptian firm Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) has been awarded a supplier certificate from the renowned French aircraft engine producer Safran Aircraft Engines. This certification comes after the signing of a partnership agreement in December 2023 for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of the Larzac engine. With this accreditation, AOI transforms into a globally certified and licensed entity to support the engines of the Alpha Jet training and light attack aircraft. This operation will be conducted in a state-of-the-art engine workshop situated in Helwan (Egypt), employing 30 proficient workers.
“It is a remarkable honor to commemorate today the launch of the Larzac engine overhaul line certified by Safran Aircraft Engines at the AOI Engine Factory as the exclusive internationally certified supplier,” stated Mokhtar Abdel Latif, chairman of AOI. “This achievement adds to the impressive track record of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and we anticipate further enhancement of cooperation with Safran to create an exceptional industrial foundation that benefits our clientele.”
“We are excited to perpetuate our collaboration with the Arab Organization for Industrialization as a sanctioned Safran Aircraft Engines authorized MRO facility,” noted Christophe Bruneau, Vice President, Military Engines, Safran Aircraft Engines. We possess a mutual dedication to excellence, and AOI’s engine workshop satisfies our rigorous quality criteria. This significant advancement with the Egyptian industry encourages additional collaboration in aerospace and defense.
Following successful evaluations conducted by Safran Aircraft Engines specialists at the AOI facility, the Egyptian manufacturer has been issued an authorized license certificate for 10 years to execute repair and overhaul tasks for all global clients of the Larzac engine. This agreement encompasses all engine models, accounting for a worldwide inventory of up to 280 Larzac engines.
