Safran Helicopter Engines Expands Collaboration with RUAG for Future Innovations

RUAG actively conducts maintenance on Super Puma helicopters and their components. Alongside the Swiss Air Force, the company serves foreign military units and civilian clients. The twin-engine Super Puma features the Makila 1A1 engine, crafted by Safran Helicopter Engines, a leading global manufacturer known for its extensive range of helicopter turboshafts, boasting over 2,500 customers in 155 countries.

To ensure optimal engine reliability, consistent maintenance is crucial. RUAG stands as a premier service provider for the Super Puma helicopter, bringing over 60 years of experience to enhance the safety and performance of both civil and military helicopters.

For many years, RUAG has enjoyed a strong partnership with Safran Helicopter Engines. As an approved original equipment manufacturer (OEM) service center, RUAG’s Lodrino site routinely handles fuel control units for Makila 1A1 engines. The agreement between RUAG and Safran has been extended for both the current year and 2021, ensuring continued service excellence.

RUAG fosters robust, long-term relationships with various OEMs, allowing them to guarantee the availability of high-quality resources and services. “We value the reliable and transparent collaboration with Safran Helicopter Engines,” says Max Grob, Business Development Manager for Propeller Aircraft & UAV at RUAG Ltd. “Such partnerships empower us to enhance our expertise and ensure high performance and reliability for the Swiss Air Force and our other clients.”
