Embraer, a worldwide pioneer in the aviation sector, is delighted to announce the prominent presentation of its C-390 Millennium multi-role military transport aircraft at the Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) exhibition, taking place at Waterkloof Air Force Base, September 18-22.
As one of the globe’s leading defense and aviation exhibitions, AAD serves as a significant platform for Embraer to showcase the remarkable capabilities of the C-390 to an international audience of defense professionals, aviation authorities, and political leaders.
During this event, Embraer had the honor of showcasing all the features of the C-390 Millennium to the president of South Africa, the Honourable President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, and the Minister of Defense, Mrs. Angie Motshekga. This next-generation aircraft also garnered substantial interest from the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), which had the chance to assess it.

The aircraft is especially valued for its ability to transport up to 26 tons of cargo at high velocity and execute a diverse range of missions at any time under the most challenging operational circumstances. Since 2019, the C-390 Millennium has showcased its operational effectiveness for users by conducting tactical transportation of troops, cargo, vehicles, and equipment; medical evacuations; disaster management; humanitarian assistance; rapid crisis response; search and rescue; aerial refueling; and firefighting.
As the most sophisticated aircraft in its class, the C-390 is outfitted with an advanced avionics suite and cutting-edge mission software for unparalleled mission success. The C-390 Millennium, a validated workhorse, has been chosen by Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, The Netherlands, Austria, South Korea, and the Czech Republic.
