Textron Aviation Unveils Major Deal for 10 New Cessna Skyhawks

Textron Aviation has officially declared an acquisition of 10 Cessna Skyhawk piston airplanes for the Kansas State University Salina Aerospace and Technology Campus, augmenting the institution’s Skyhawk fleet to a total of 20. These aircraft will aid in accommodating the university’s increasing enrollment in its aviation training programs.

The Cessna Skyhawk is conceived and produced by Textron Aviation Inc., a subsidiary of Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT).
“Textron Aviation is devoted to fostering the training and advancement of the upcoming generation of aviators, and our enduring robust collaboration with Kansas State is a vital component of these endeavors,” remarked Chris Crow, vice president of Piston Sales at Textron Aviation. “Kansas State University has been cultivating future aviators in Cessna Skyhawks since the inception of its program in 1987, further affirming the strength and proficiency of the platform, along with its leadership in pilot education.”
Over the years, Textron Aviation has forged a durable partnership with the K-State Aerospace and Technology Campus, situated in Salina, Kansas. In 2019, the university received five new Skyhawks as part of its initiative to modernize its aircraft fleet. K-State was also among the pioneering institutions to engage in Textron Aviation’s Top Hawk program, which offers selected universities the chance to operate a custom-branded Skyhawk for flight training and promotional purposes.

Deliveries of the 10 new airplanes, equipped with the state-of-the-art Garmin G1000 NXi avionics system, are anticipated to commence in the first quarter of 2022.
