SRC Secures Dual Contracts with the U.S. Air Force
SRC, Inc. has secured a monumental $950 million ceiling contract, designed for Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) within the realms of Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2). This initiative focuses on the maturation, demonstration, and expansion of capabilities across various platforms and domains by leveraging modern software, algorithm development, and open systems design.
This contract represents a significant leap forward in the multi-award, multi-level security initiative aimed at developing and operating integrated systems that operate cohesively across all domains—air, land, sea, space, cyber, and electromagnetic spectrum. The open architecture family of systems provides a dynamic capability across integrated platforms.
Kevin Hair, President and CEO of SRC, Inc., emphasized, “SRC’s cutting-edge secure processing, spectrum warfare, data analytics, and multi-domain integrated sensor capabilities will be pivotal in assisting the Air Force to sense and assess the environment in real-time.”
“We are thrilled to expand our support to the Air Force, ensuring our warfighters maintain a decisive advantage over adversaries,” he added.
In addition to this substantial contract, SRC continues to collaborate with the Air Force in enhancing intelligence mission data delivery, safeguarding warfighters with counter-UAS technology, and innovating technologies for next-generation unmanned aerial systems.
SRC also recently announced a $90 million contract aimed at enhancing the U.S. Air Force’s Counter-small Unmanned Aerial System (C-sUAS) capabilities. Under this IDIQ contract, not exceeding the $90 million ceiling, the Air Force will acquire SRC’s C-sUAS and pertinent components, with SRC also providing upgrades, sustainment, installation support, and design analytics. Project completion is anticipated by August 2028.
SRC will additionally ensure sustainment for its products within the Multi-Environmental Domain Unmanned Systems Application (MEDUSA). MEDUSA is an advanced command-and-control system that interlinks various C-sUAS technologies to detect and neutralize small drones. Notably, this comprehensive program was initially deployed at Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE, as per Capt. Brigitte Palacios, operations section officer of the 380th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron.
“The C-sUAS mission is unique as it represents a relatively novel focus for the Air Force,” Palacios elaborated in a statement. “MEDUSA utilizes advanced technologies to defeat small drones, with the objective of developing a model system that can be rapidly deployed to areas facing significant drone threats to military personnel or assets. ADAB serves as the test base to further this capability and will aid in shaping future C-sUAS operations.”
SRC is renowned for its Fixed Site-Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aircraft System Integrated Defeat System, one of eight interim C-sUAS initiatives approved for investment and deployment across U.S. armed services by the Joint C-sUAS Office. MEDUSA has also received endorsement from this office for joint force applications. Additionally, on July 23, the Army awarded SRC a $426 million contract for the development, production, deployment, and supply support of FS-LIDS.
