
Textron Systems Secures Major Deal for 36 Advanced Shadow Aircraft for the U.S. Army
Textron Systems Corporation has officially announced the sale of 36 Shadow aircraft in the advanced Block III configuration to the U.S. Army. This significant contract, valued at $66 million, encompasses ongoing engineering services aimed at facilitating the deployment and support of the new Block III system configuration.
“We are proud to sustain our strong partnership, which spans over 20 years, with the U.S. Army on the Shadow program,” stated David Phillips, Senior Vice President at Textron Systems. “The Shadow Block III is engineered to equip our customers with the enhanced capabilities necessary for meeting the demands of both current and future missions.”
The Shadow Block III system builds on the proven success of its predecessors. This upgraded model features notable design enhancements that improve operational availability under adverse weather conditions. It includes the latest high-definition day-and-night video payload, increased engine power and reliability while minimizing acoustic signature, and advanced manned-unmanned teaming capabilities with the Army’s Apache assets alongside an advanced communications relay.
The Shadow Block III system is fully equipped to deliver aerial support even in the most challenging environments.
