Unleashing the H215: A Powerhouse in Latin America’s Performance Landscape

Buenos Aires (Argentina), April 19, 2016 – The H215 heavy helicopter, part of the renowned Super Puma family, is set to showcase its exceptional multi-mission capabilities and performance designed for high and hot conditions during an extensive demo tour across Latin America.

Commencing tomorrow in Argentina, the demo flights will then proceed to Chile and conclude in Peru. This three-week tour aims to engage both civil and military customers, offering a firsthand experience of the helicopter’s versatility.

The H215 is equipped with advanced avionics housed within a robust platform, making it adept at executing various missions. It boasts impressive long-range capabilities, significant power, high speed, and an excellent useful payload, along with an impressive availability rate exceeding 95 percent. Certified by both EASA and FAA, the H215 incorporates cutting-edge technology that adheres to the highest safety standards in the industry. Highlights include a state-of-the-art glass cockpit and a renowned 4-axis autopilot inherited from the H225, ensuring unparalleled flight envelope protection, precision, and stability, even under the most challenging operational circumstances.

“The H215 introduces a transformative business model,” remarked Alexandre Ceccacci, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in Cono Sur. “Our revamped industrial framework allows us to deliver a powerful, modern helicopter at a competitive price while ensuring optimized lead times and significant flexibility regarding optional equipment. It is the perfect solution for regional customers seeking an economical helicopter with versatile multi-mission capabilities.”

Designed specifically for a wide range of operations, the H215 excels in tasks such as aerial work with both internal and external loads, firefighting, law enforcement, medical evacuation, search and rescue (SAR), and humanitarian missions.

Notably, the H215 and its military variant, the H215M, have been chosen by the UN and several Latin American Armed Forces due to their cost efficiency, long-range capabilities, and exceptional performance in demanding high-altitude environments.
