Tunisia Elevates Defense: Unveiling Enhanced Air Power with New Bell Helicopters
The Tunisian Air Force has secured a pivotal agreement with Bell Textron during the Paris Air Show, acquiring 12 SUBARU Bell 412EPX helicopters. This notable defense contract signifies the inaugural order for this advanced Bell 412 variant in Africa. These versatile helicopters are intended for use in numerous military and security operations by the Tunisian Air Force.
“The Bell 412 stands out as one of the most reliable platforms globally, and we take pride in assisting the Tunisian Air Force as it enhances its fleet with this established and adaptable aircraft,” stated Tim Evans, Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa at Bell. “The SUBARU Bell 412EPX is gaining traction as an international military platform, and we are excited to introduce it to the Middle East and Africa, in collaboration with the Tunisian Air Force.”
This purchase will significantly bolster the Tunisian Air Force’s rotary-wing fleet, which presently consists of 39 Bell aircraft, including Bell UH-1s, 205s, and OH-58s.
The transaction with Tunisia continues a trend of recent Bell 412 integrations into service with various global organizations, such as the Japan Coast Guard, San Diego Fire and Rescue, the Croatia Ministry of Interior, and the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior. “The Bell 412 is worldwide acknowledged for its flexibility and dependability, allowing operators to undertake a diverse range of missions,” commented a Bell Textron representative.
The SUBARU Bell 412EPX boasts remarkable specifications, featuring a maximum internal weight capacity of 12,200 lbs, an external weight of 13,000 lbs, and a cargo hook capability of 5,000 lbs. With a usable load of 5,385 lbs, the platform is ideally equipped for a wide selection of critical missions.
