Raytheon Secures $402 Million Navy Contract for Cutting-Edge SPY-6 Radar Systems

Raytheon Company, a leader in defense technology and systems, has been awarded a significant contract modification valued at $402,658,015. This modification pertains to the Air and Missile Defense Radar Program (AMDR) low-rate initial production (LRIP). Under contract N00024-14-C-5315, Raytheon will deliver three AMDR LRIP units, which are crucial for enhancing naval defense capabilities.

These advanced radar units are set to be integrated into the DDG 51 Flight III-class ships, ensuring superior maritime defense against aerial threats. The production work will take place in Marlborough, Massachusetts, with an expected completion date in March 2023. The funding for this project, totaling $402,658,015, will come from the Fiscal 2019 shipbuilding and conversion budget designated for the Navy, ensuring robust national security investment without expiration by the end of the current fiscal year.

The Naval Sea Systems Command, located in Washington, D.C., is overseeing this strategic contracting activity, further solidifying Raytheon’s role in advancing U.S. naval capabilities.
