French Air and Space Force Bolsters Fleet with 12 New Rafale Jets from Dassault Aviation
Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, has officially finalized a contract for the acquisition of 12 Rafale aircraft alongside Florence Parly, French Minister of the Armed Forces.
These state-of-the-art aircraft are set to replace the 12 Rafales currently in service with the French Air and Space Force (FASF), which were previously sold to the Hellenic Air Force.
The agreement was formalized during the visit by the French Minister of the Armed Forces to the Argonay facility in Haute-Savoie, renowned for producing flight control systems for all Dassault aircraft since 1963.
Dassault Aviation and its industrial collaborators express gratitude to the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, the defense procurement agency DGA, and the Armed Forces for their continued trust.
“This agreement for 12 new aircraft will allow our Air and Space Force to maintain the Rafale program’s momentum, even as we await the fifth order, which is anticipated for delivery between 2027 and 2030. This contract signifies a major achievement for Dassault Aviation, Thales, Safran, and the 500 French enterprises contributing to the program, especially given the challenging conditions faced by our aerospace industry amid the Covid crisis,” noted Eric Trappier.
