“Strengthening Ties: KNDS France Unveils Landmark MOUs with Indonesia at INDODEFENCE 2025”
KNDS France and the Indonesian Armed Forces: a robust alliance with over 40 years of collaboration
The enduring collaboration with Indonesia is crucial for KNDS. In line with this, KNDS France inaugurated its regional office in Jakarta in 2022, aiming to enhance and expand the strategic industrial cooperation with Indonesia for the long haul. KNDS France recognizes the Indonesian government’s aspiration to achieve autonomy and self-sufficiency in various critical defense sectors and is dedicated to supporting these objectives.
KNDS France emphasizes its unwavering commitment to fostering a stronger and sustainable industrial collaboration with state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and private entities through Technology Transfer and Manufacturing Transfer, particularly in the fields of artillery and medium to large caliber ammunition, aiding the Indonesian government’s roadmap to fortify the Indonesian Defense industry.
KNDS endorses the enhancement of the Indonesian domestic defense and technological industrial base (DTIB).
As a result, KNDS France is excited to announce the signing of five significant Memoranda of Understanding in the land defense sector with KEMHAN and Indonesian industries during the INDODEFENCE 2025 exhibition. These advantageous MOUs will reinforce KNDS France’s industrial alliance with Indonesia’s DTIB.
These MOUs encompass PT PINDAD for prospective collaboration in the area of artillery and large caliber ammunition, all involving local production transfers, along with PT DIRGANTARA for partnership regarding equipping Indonesian helicopters with 20mm cannons. PT SSE is also incorporated to develop a counter-UAV variant of the domestically manufactured P2-TIGER, as well as BALITBANG to investigate research and development topics in land defense.
