SAMI Collaborates with Amentum to Transform Land Systems Maintenance and Repair Operations

Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), the national leader in defense and security, a Public Investment Fund entity, has selected Amentum (NYSE: AMTM) to support the enhancement and advancement of SAMI Land’s maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade (MROU) capabilities for ground combat systems within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“In partnership with SAMI Land’s dedicated teams, Amentum will provide proven expertise for servicing terrestrial systems utilized by the armed forces of Saudi Arabia,” remarked Andy White, senior vice president of Amentum Energy & Environment International.

“Capitalizing on our extensive global experience in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), including our long-term support for Defence Equipment & Support at the UK Ministry of Defence, we will aid SAMI Land in establishing the technical, commercial, and operational frameworks pivotal for sustainable achievement.”

Aligned with Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia aims to localize over 50% of military spending by 2030. This collaboration is vital for positioning SAMI Land as the national standard for MROU of land systems. By implementing comprehensive business frameworks and integrating best practices, SAMI Land will be equipped to effectively meet the growing demand from clients throughout Saudi Arabia.

This initiative is also expected to promote job creation within the defense sector and further strengthen Saudi Arabia’s industrial base, reflecting SAMI’s strategic objective of actively engaging in the localization of defense industries within the Kingdom. Amentum will facilitate this endeavor by transferring expertise and contributing to the build-up of national skills in manufacturing, maintenance, and repair.
