SAMI Teams Up with Amentum to Revolutionize National MROU Solutions for Land Systems

Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), the national defense and security frontrunner, a Public Investment Fund entity, has chosen Amentum (NYSE: AMTM) to assist in advancing and enhancing SAMI Land’s maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade (MROU) capabilities for terrestrial combat systems within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“Collaborating with SAMI Land’s dedicated teams, Amentum will deliver established expertise for servicing ground systems operated by the armed forces of Saudi Arabia,” stated Andy White, senior vice president of Amentum Energy & Environment International.

“Leveraging our vast global experience in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), including our longstanding support for Defence Equipment & Support at the UK Ministry of Defence, we will assist SAMI Land in establishing the technical, commercial, and operational frameworks for sustainable success.”

“This agreement embodies our dedication to enhancing our capabilities to fulfill customer MROU needs with operational excellence,” affirmed Eng. Mohammed bin Saud Alhodaib, executive vice president of SAMI Land. “Our collaboration with Amentum is a strategic milestone towards fostering knowledge transfer and localizing technologies, which aligns with our ambitious vision to emerge as the premier national provider of MROU solutions for land systems in the Kingdom.”

In line with Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia seeks to localize over 50% of military expenditure by 2030. This partnership is crucial in establishing SAMI Land as the national benchmark for land systems MROU. By instituting comprehensive business frameworks and incorporating best practices, SAMI Land will be more adept at addressing the rising demand from clients throughout Saudi Arabia.

This initiative is also anticipated to facilitate job creation within the defense industry and further bolster Saudi Arabia’s industrial foundation, echoing SAMI’s strategic goal of actively participating in the localization of defense industries in the Kingdom. Amentum will aid this process by transferring expertise and contributing to the development of national proficiency in manufacturing, maintenance, and repair.
