“ICOMM and EDGE Unite: Winning a Groundbreaking Contract for Cutting-Edge Sniper Rifles with India’s Elite Central Reserve Police Force”

EDGE entity CARACAL, a renowned designer and manufacturer of high-performance firearms, in collaboration with ICOMM Tele Ltd, a branch of Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL), has secured an agreement to supply 200 CSR 338 sniper rifles to India’s Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Under the terms of the agreement, the sniper rifles will be produced and delivered at the ICOMM CARACAL Small Arms Complex situated in Hyderabad, India. Inaugurated in April this year, the facility serves as a domestic manufacturing hub producing a diverse array of advanced weapon systems to meet the urgent requirements of the Indian Armed Forces, law enforcement bodies, state police, and special operations units, while also catering to CARACAL’s global export demands.

The initial batch of CARACAL’s locally manufactured CSR 338 sniper rifles is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2025. The CSR 338 is a high-performance bolt-action sniper rifle, chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum, featuring a 27-inch barrel, a 10-round magazine, ambidextrous magazine release and safety measures, a two-stage adjustable precision trigger, and a four-position, telescopic, foldable stock.
