Le Groupe La Poste and Thales have officially announced the commencement of a 12-month trial designed to enhance the enforcement of the measures specified in France’s Military Programming Law (LPM) for the fortification of information systems utilized by critical infrastructure providers. This collaboration presents a significant opportunity for La Poste to evaluate Cybels Sensor, a reliable probe created by Thales for the detection of cyber threats.
This unique partnership marks the first of its kind where Le Groupe La Poste and Thales plan to execute real-world tests aimed at advancing cybersecurity solutions and services to ensure optimal levels of cyber threat detection and responsive capabilities as mandated by the LPM.
The agreement outlines three main goals: to evaluate the deployment and interaction of various cybersecurity solutions and services; to validate operational procedures in place to assure effective communication and sharing of threat intelligence among stakeholders, and to enhance the operational efficacy of both products and services.
With over 40 years of extensive cybersecurity knowledge, Thales will equip Le Groupe La Poste with its Cybels Sensor trusted probe, a modular solution designed to identify cyberattacks specifically impacting Critical National Infrastructure Providers, which are under strict security protocols. To bolster detection capabilities, the probe employs advanced artificial intelligence algorithms capable of identifying zero-day attacks, complemented by a Cyber Threat Intelligence service. The solution will be trialed at notably high data rates (10 Gbps) through La Poste’s cutting-edge PASIv2 Internet access platform.
As part of the actions being taken to ensure compliance with the LPM, Le Groupe La Poste will, through its internal cybersecurity teams, provide the services of security incident detection providers (PDIS) and security incident response providers (PRIS), enabling them to interact and exchange information on threats utilizing Thales’s Cyber Threat Intelligence platform.
By pooling their resources, expertise, and services, Thales and La Poste become the first entities in France to evaluate the theoretical foundation of the LPM requirements in real-world contexts and to perform operational assessments of related services and solutions aimed at elevating the quality and effectiveness of cyberattack detection.
