Emirates SkyCargo Expands Its Fleet with Five New Boeing 777 Freighters!
Boeing and Emirates SkyCargo have today revealed a commitment for five more 777 Freighters as the operator once again selects the world’s most efficient twin-engine cargo aircraft to fulfill rising freight demands. This latest acquisition elevates Emirates’ order portfolio to 245 Boeing widebody jets, which encompasses 10 777 Freighters.
Emirates SkyCargo serves as the logistics branch of Emirates, the globe’s largest international airline. Its investment in the 777 Freighter is projected to enhance main deck cargo capabilities by 30 percent by 2026 and expand Emirates’ freighter fleet to 17 aircraft – consisting of 777 Freighters, 777 converted freighters, and 747 Freighters.
The 777 Freighter can travel farther (9,200 kilometers / 4,970 nautical miles) and transport more freight (102 metric tons / 112 tons) than any other twin-engine cargo aircraft. This operational range and load capability enable operators to provide more long-haul, nonstop flights that connect markets such as the Middle East with the U.S. and Europe – bridging pivotal high-value cargo markets without the need for refueling.
“We are privileged that Emirates SkyCargo, recognized for its operational excellence and innovation, has once again chosen the Boeing 777 Freighter to expand the reach of its global network,” remarked Stephanie Pope, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “We greatly appreciate Emirates’ confidence in the Boeing widebody family and are dedicated to supporting their long-term strategic growth roadmap.”
As the industry leader in cargo aircraft, Boeing offers over 90% of the global dedicated freighter capacity, encompassing both new productions and converted jets. The 777 Freighter remains the company’s top-selling freighter aircraft in history, with over 265 deliveries completed to date.
