Boeing Secures Pivotal Contract for Next-Gen Air Force Fighter Program
The U.S. Air Force has declared that Boeing has been granted a contract to conceptualize, construct, and deliver its latest-generation fighter jet.
The Next-Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) Platform will introduce a revolutionary class of United States fighter aircraft that offers superior capabilities in range, resilience, firepower, and versatility. The NGAD Platform serves as the cornerstone of the NGAD Family of Systems.
“We acknowledge the significance of conceptualizing, constructing, and delivering a 6th-generation fighter solution for the United States Air Force. To prepare for this objective, we have made the most substantial investment in the history of our defense operations, and we are poised to supply the most cutting-edge and inventive NGAD aircraft necessary to fulfill the mission,” stated Steve Parker, interim president and chief executive officer, Boeing Defense, Space & Security.
For nearly a century, Boeing has been at the forefront of creating some of the most sophisticated combat aircraft for military clients across the globe, including the P-51 Mustang, F-4 Phantom, F-15 Eagle, F/A-18 Hornet, and EA-18G Growler, among others. The NGAD selection builds upon Boeing’s fighter heritage and sets a new worldwide benchmark for 6th generation capability.
