Fincantieri and Alexandria Shipyard Forge New Partnership at DIMDEX in Doha

Fincantieri and the Alexandria (Egypt) shipyard have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding in Doha.

The MOU is designed to outline the foundational elements for discussions that will primarily concentrate on exploring new prospects with the Alexandria Shipyard for the construction of new vessels, whether by the Alexandria Shipyard itself or other facilities, as mutually agreed upon. This partnership will aim at potential new programs for the Egyptian Navy, encompassing various types of vessels of interest.

The agreement was signed by the General Manager of the Naval Vessels Division of Fincantieri, Dario Deste, and R. Admiral Hossam El-Din Ezzat Kotb, Chairman and CEO, representing Alexandria Shipyard, during the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition & Conference (DIMDEX).

Having a robust history in both military and commercial shipbuilding sectors, the Alexandria Shipyard specializes in constructing state-of-the-art corvettes for the Egyptian Navy. Additionally, it manufacturers various kinds and sizes of multifunctional vessels, offshore oil rigs, and oil platforms.

Both Fincantieri and Alexandria Shipyard are actively seeking new collaborative business opportunities and aim to secure a contract from prospective clients for the provision of any type of vessel deemed of interest, to be mutually agreed upon.
