Arquus Celebrates Milestone with Completion of VT4 Tactical Vehicle Program for the French Army

The French Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) has formally proclaimed the successful conclusion of the procurement initiative with the arrival of the last batch of 10 VT4 tactical vehicles at Standard 2.

Designed by ACMAT, a subsidiary of Arquus, the VT4 tactical vehicle symbolizes modernization endeavors within the French Army, effectively substituting the outdated Peugeot P4 vehicles that were previously in operation.

This remarkable milestone signifies the culmination of a carefully orchestrated delivery timeline conducted in strict compliance with the 2019-2025 Military Programming Law (LPM), showcasing the exceptional joint efforts of both governmental and industrial partners. In total, an impressive fleet of 4,380 VT4 vehicles has been successfully dispatched to various branches, including the three military sectors, the Operational Energy Service, the Joint Interministerial Service for Ammunition (SIMu), and the National Guard.

The VT4 initiative, also recognized as VLTP-NP (Véhicule léger tactique polyvalent – Non protégé), was launched by the French Army to meet the urgent demand for replacing the aging Peugeot P4 vehicles, which had reliably operated since the 1980s.

To address this necessity, the French Ministry of Armed Forces placed an initial order for 1,000 VT4 vehicles from Arquus (formerly known as Renault Trucks Defense) in 2016. The first units were anticipated for delivery in the fall of 2018.
