For the first time, General Atomics AeroTec Systems, the German manufacturer of the innovative Do228 NXT multi-role aircraft, is showcasing its capabilities at the Dubai Airshow from November 17 to 21. This event marks a significant step in the company’s expansion into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Showcasing Versatile Aircraft for Challenging Conditions
With extensive global operational experience, the Do228 is known for its remarkable versatility, robustness, and reliability. Its exceptional Short Take-Off and Landing (STOL) abilities, combined with diverse equipment options, make it perfectly suited for the multifaceted operational demands of the MENA region. Whether for desert surveillance, maritime patrol, humanitarian missions, or transport operations, the Do228 offers significant potential for a variety of regional operators.

The Do228 has been successfully operating in over 65 countries and territories globally. With a rich history in the Middle East, it has been employed across various roles by operators in countries like the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. The aircraft has consistently shown exceptional reliability in some of the toughest operational conditions, proving its worth in security and transport missions in remote desert areas.
Launching the Next Generation
The final assembly phase of the Do228 NXT is on track, with two aircraft currently in the last stages of production. The completion of the first NXT aircraft is projected for spring, featuring numerous upgraded systems and components such as a new AHRS, modern cabin LED lighting, and an innovative cabin design.
