Sikorsky Lands a $251.4 Million Deal with Jordan and Croatia!

Sikorsky has obtained a contract worth $251.4 million to produce Black Hawk helicopters for both Jordan and Croatia.

These aircraft will aid both countries in transporting cargo and personnel, fortifying their borders, tackling terrorism, and rescuing those in distress.

The project is anticipated to reach completion by June 2027.

This is not the first instance in which these countries have acquired American helicopters. Jordan purchased two Black Hawks in 2022 to augment their existing fleet, whereas Croatia secured eight to replace their aging Soviet-era helicopters.

The UH-60M Black Hawk is the principal medium-lift helicopter utilized by the US Army. It boasts a twin-engine architecture with advanced rotor blades, instruments, controls, and navigation systems that significantly outperform its predecessor, the UH-60A model.

Moreover, it features a cutting-edge digital system that boosts pilots’ situational awareness. The Black Hawk can fly at speeds reaching 151 knots (around 280 kilometers per hour) and can cover more than 276 nautical miles (over 511 kilometers) before needing to refuel. According to the manufacturer, Sikorsky, the Black Hawk is designed to be the safest and most efficient helicopter within its class.
