Revolutionizing Air Security: EOS Defense Systems USA Unveils Next-Gen Counter UAS Solutions
The advancing Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) threat necessitates ongoing enhancement in counter UAS (CUAS) technologies to safeguard vital assets and formations. EOS Defense Systems USA has revealed that it is working on developing advanced capabilities for its Slinger Remote Weapon System (RWS), integrating features like Assisted Target Recognition and adjustable levels of autonomy to tackle the escalating challenge posed by adversarial drones.
“Slinger is the most precise remote weapon system available, and these advancements will markedly enhance the CUAS mission by alleviating operator strain through assisted detection, classification, and engagement of drone threats,” stated Shawn Baerlocher, CEO of EOS Defense Systems USA. “The RWS can function in a ‘stand-alone’ mode, relying solely on its inherent, passive sensors or receive inputs from an external sensor. Either mode enables effective execution of platform self-defense. The incorporation of an automation suite allows for drone neutralization with a diminished burden on the warfighter.
EOS Defense Systems USA will also commence production of Slinger at our Huntsville, Alabama facility to address the increasing demand from U.S. government clientele.”
EOS has performed numerous Slinger field tests and showcased high PKill rates against drone threats in operation-relevant conditions, particularly against maneuverable Group 1 UAS. EOS envisions Slingers fitted with these innovative features deployed across diverse platforms as part of a comprehensive defense strategy against UAS threats.
By merging proven precision accuracy with economical kinetic effectors, and configurable autonomy, Slinger presents a highly effective and scalable resolution for safeguarding mobile platforms on the contemporary battlefield, addressing capability gaps within the Domain of Warfare.
EOS Remote Weapon Systems are field-tested and utilised by military forces across Australia, the Middle East, North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Recognized for their accuracy and dependability, EOS has supplied over 2,500 systems globally. EOS Defense Systems USA has functioned as the company’s regional hub since 2018.
