Exail Enhances Photonics Prowess Through Leukos Acquisition

Exail has revealed the acquisition of Leukos, a firm renowned for its laser technologies, including supercontinuum lasers. For several years, Exail has been immersed in the photonics industry within the Advanced Technologies division, which bolsters its primary sector, Navigation & Maritime Robotics.

Leukos is a French enterprise employing approximately twenty personnel. It boasts an annual revenue of around 3 million euros, showcasing an EBITDA margin closely aligned with that of the Exail group. The company has focused for several years on crafting high-tech solutions, such as pulsed micro-lasers, supercontinuum laser generators, and ultrafast lasers in the mid-infrared spectrum.

This acquisition, funded through the company’s available capital, marks the first by Exail post the merger between ECA and iXblue. Despite its modest scale, this transaction opens the door to considerable technological and commercial advantages for the group by merging Leukos’ expertise with its own in specialized fibers and integrated optical technologies. The teams from both companies are already acquainted, streamlining a smooth integration.

Exail’s Advanced Technologies division creates the most sophisticated photonic and quantum components (specialized optical fibers, optical modulators, quantum measurement devices) and products leveraging cutting-edge technologies (embedded communication solutions, simulators, autonomous decision-making systems). These components and products are marketed directly to external clients or integrated into the systems of the Navigation & Maritime Robotics sector.

Through this operation, Exail reaffirms its aspiration to emerge as one of the most innovative mid-sized enterprises in France. The company ranks among the top ten patent applicants with INPI among mid-sized firms and continues to invest in research and development to deliver premium value products to its clients, spanning both defense and civilian markets.

Exail Technologies is an industrial entity focused on high tech in the realm of autonomous robotics, featuring vertical integration of its operations. The group provides intricate systems of drones, navigation solutions, as well as products tailored for aerospace and photonics. Exail Technologies guarantees performance, dependability, and safety for its civil and military clientele operating in demanding environments, generating its revenue across nearly 80 countries.

Exail Technologies is officially listed on Euronext Paris Compartment B (EXA) and is part of the Euronext Tech Leaders sector, which encompasses over 110 prominent or rapidly-growing technology firms in their respective domains.
