“Exail Set to Provide 100 Cutting-Edge Navigation Systems for U.S. Naval UUV Initiative”
French navigational systems producer Exail has inked a fresh agreement to deliver 100 Phins Compact Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) for incorporation into unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) managed by a defense firm located in the United States.
The systems will enhance underwater operations by offering positioning functionalities in situations where GPS and other external signals might be inaccessible or inconsistent. Crafted for streamlined platforms, the Phins Compact INS facilitates adaptable deployment across various maritime tasks.
Exail’s Sales Director Carlos Lopes mentioned that the organization has collaborated extensively with defense partners to customize its systems according to operational requirements. “We are confident that our INS delivers the precision and robustness essential for challenging subsea endeavors,” he remarked.
This agreement signifies a further advancement in Exail’s expanding presence within the U.S. defense sector. The company’s inertial navigation technology is currently employed by over 50 navies globally and is fitted on a diverse array of autonomous underwater systems.
