Exail to Empower Indonesian Navy with Cutting-Edge Unmanned Mine-Busting Technology

Exail, a worldwide frontrunner in robotics and maritime autonomy, has been chosen to provide multiple Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) and Mine Identification and Disposal Systems (MIDS) to the Indonesian Navy, facilitating a fully integrated unmanned Mine Countermeasures (MCM) capability.

The agreement encompasses the provision of four Exail’s Inspector 90 USVs, alongside Seascan and K-Ster Mine Identification and Disposal Systems. These sophisticated systems will be utilized from two new, next-generation MCM motherships, (KRI Pulau Fani and KRI Pulau Fanildo).

All systems will be remotely controlled from the mothership and orchestrated through Exail’s unified Command and Control (C2) center. The C2 center, enhanced by the Umisoft software suite and situated in the vessel’s combat room, will offer integrated control software for both sweeping and hunting operations. Exail’s Umisoft software supports all-encompassing mission planning, real-time monitoring, multi-system coordination, and thorough post-mission analysis and data management.

“This recent achievement underscores the robustness of our modular MCM solution, UMIS, which is specifically engineered to adjust to the distinctive operational requirements of each navy,” stated Jérôme Bendell, Head of Exail Maritime Systems Business line. “Its adaptability allows for the provision of scalable, high-performance unmanned systems, tailored for a diverse array of mine warfare missions. This selection, demonstrating yet another versatile configuration, further solidifies Exail’s role as a pivotal contributor in shaping the future of naval mine countermeasures.”
