Eurofighter GmbH in conjunction with the NATO Eurofighter 2000 and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) has formalized a new contract to extend the current C#3 Material Availability Service Agreement for an additional 65 months. This arrangement signifies a second service term and is effective from August 1st, 2021 through December 31st, 2026.
The contract, valued at €3.9 billion, with options amounting to an extra €0.9 billion, signifies the robust partnership among Eurofighter GmbH, the Eurofighter Partner Companies (EPCs), and NETMA in maintaining consistent high standards of aircraft availability throughout all Typhoon fleets. The C#3 deal ensures all Eurofighter Typhoons within the primary nations’ fleets are kept operational and ready through a planned provision of essential in-service support, which includes equipment maintenance, spare parts sourcing, inventory management, and logistical assistance.
This agreement empowers the various national industrial collaborators – Airbus Germany, Airbus Spain, BAE Systems, and Leonardo—to meet and customize the spare parts and repair needs of their respective national clients.
Giancarlo Mezzanatto, Chief Operating Officer of Programmes for Eurofighter GmbH, stated:
We are thrilled to have secured this significant, long-term support agreement. It underscores our proven track record in service delivery and will further enhance the trust we have established with our clients in maintaining their Typhoon fleets.
The NETMA Deputy General Manager, Ruediger Knoepfel, commented:
This new C#3 Contract marks a crucial step in assuring the high availability of the Typhoon fleets. It serves as the right measure to keep readiness economically viable for the Typhoon Nations.
