Bell Unveils Royal Jordanian Air Force’s Complete Bell 505 Fleet Delivery

Milestone commemorated at RJAF pilot graduation ceremony with His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Jordan

Bell Textron Inc., a subsidiary of Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT), is pleased to announce the successful completion of the delivery of the final five Bell 505 helicopters to the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF), fulfilling the order for a total of 10 Bell 505 aircraft. This notable milestone coincided with the graduation ceremony of the latest group of pilot trainees, attended by His Royal Highness, Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, reinforcing the RJAF’s ongoing dedication to excellence in aviation education and operational preparedness.

“We are excited to have finalized the delivery of the Bell 505 fleet to the Royal Jordanian Air Force,” stated Danny Maldonado, chief commercial officer of Bell. “This collaboration emphasizes our commitment to delivering cutting-edge, dependable, and efficient training solutions to our military allies in the region, serving as a true testament to the Bell 505’s prowess as a military training tool.”

In a historic occasion, overseen by the Crown Prince, the RJAF honored the graduation of its cadets, highlighting the Bell 505 aircraft that will play a crucial role in training the next generation of Jordanian aviators.

Brig. Gen. Mohammad F. Hiyasat, Commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force, conveyed his contentment with the completed fleet and the effective training of the new pilots: “The arrival of the last Bell 505 helicopters marks a significant achievement in our training program. These aircraft offer our cadets an exceptional training platform, ensuring they are thoroughly prepared for future challenges. I extend my congratulations to our cadets on their graduation and commend their dedication and efforts.”

On July 6, 2022, the RJAF entered into a purchase agreement for 10 Bell 505 helicopters, targeting the enhancement of the RJAF’s training capabilities. Bell collaborated closely with regional partner, BGS, to support this initiative with the RJAF and appreciates their cooperation in expanding Bell’s fleet in the Middle East. The initial five helicopters were delivered in November 2023, signaling the start of a transformative era in rotorcraft education at the King Hussein Air College in Mafraq, Jordan.

As part of the program, later this year the customer will receive a flight training device and a comprehensive computer-based training package to facilitate both basic and advanced rotorcraft flight instruction.

The Bell 505 is an adaptable, five-seat aircraft crafted for reliability and effectiveness, outfitted with cutting-edge technology to satisfy the needs of contemporary flight training. The aircraft boasts a fully integrated Garmin G1000H NXi avionics suite and a Safran Arrius 2R engine featuring dual-channel FADEC, establishing it as an ideal platform for military and commercial instruction.
