Hanwha Forms Strategic Partnerships with Canadian Firms to Boost Patrol Submarine Initiative

Hanwha is set to enhance its industrial collaborations in Canada by unveiling a series of strategic memorandums of understanding (MOUs) that cover diverse sectors such as steel, space, artificial intelligence, and advanced technologies. These initiatives support the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP).

During a recent visit to Toronto by a South Korean business and government delegation, these MOUs were signed to foster industrial cooperation and investment discussions with Canadian enterprises. This move underscores Hanwha’s long-term dedication to partnering with Canadian industries to promote job creation and bolster Canada’s sovereign defense, security, and technological expertise—key pillars of national development.

The Republic of Korea regards the CPSP as a strategic opportunity to fortify the Canada-South Korea relationship, evolving it into a robust, comprehensive partnership that encompasses defense, industrial growth, technological innovation, and security collaboration. This strategy is in full harmony with the Canada-Korea Free Trade Agreement, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Security and Defence Cooperation Partnership, and Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy.
