“ICOMM and EDGE Join Forces: Securing a Pivotal Contract for Advanced Sniper Rifles with India’s Central Reserve Police Force”

EDGE entity CARACAL, a prominent designer and producer of high-performance small arms, in partnership with ICOMM Tele Ltd, a subsidiary of Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL), has secured a contract to furnish 200 CSR 338 sniper rifles to India’s Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

As per the contract, the sniper rifles will be manufactured and supplied at the ICOMM CARACAL Small Arms Complex located in Hyderabad, India. Opened in April this year, the facility acts as a local manufacturing hub generating a wide range of advanced weaponry to satisfy the essential demands of the Indian Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies, state police, and special forces, while also supporting CARACAL’s global export needs.

The first batch of CARACAL’s locally produced CSR 338 sniper rifles is anticipated to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2025. The CSR 338 is a high-performance bolt-action sniper rifle. Chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum, the CSR 338 is equipped with a 27-inch barrel, a 10-round magazine, ambidextrous magazine release and safety features, a two-stage adjustable precision trigger, and a four-position, telescopic, foldable stock.
