Denmark’s Bold Move: Finalizing CAVS with a 129-Strong Fleet of Patria 6×6 Armoured Vehicles!
Denmark has now finalized the concluding actions in the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) initiative by signing the last three contracts concurrently: the R&D Accord, the Framework Agreement, and the Life Cycle Management (LCM) Accord. This comes after the ratification of the Technical Agreement with all participating nations as recently as in April 2025.
Subsequently, Denmark has placed an order for 129 CAVS 6×6 armoured vehicles based on the Patria 6×6 within the scheme. The initial vehicles are set to be delivered later this year. Denmark becomes the fifth nation, following Finland, Latvia, Sweden, and Germany, to engage in the programme.
“Patria is extremely delighted to witness that Denmark has now progressed to the serial acquisition phase. The rapid advancement of Denmark undertaking all essential measures within the CAVS initiative serves as a remarkable illustration of present-day multinational collaboration as it should be, aimed at enhancing interoperability and bolstering the security of supply among allied nations. The CAVS programme persists as a prime benchmark for establishing the desired shared defence capacities in a swift and economically efficient manner,” remarks Mats Warstedt, Vice President, Market Area Nordics of Patria.
Under the CAVS programme, the development of the 6×6 armoured vehicle system is spearheaded by Patria, which boasts over four decades of expertise in designing, delivering, and supporting cutting-edge protected troop transport and system integration. The supply of vehicles is facilitated by leveraging the local industrial capabilities of member nations, and each new nation inherently strengthens the security of supply for the entire collaborative structure. Patria has already secured orders for nearly 1,000 Patria 6×6 vehicles and has successfully delivered over 200. The initiative is open to countries with similar equipment needs, subject to mutual consent of the involved nations.
Patria will participate in Denmark’s largest defence industry exhibition, DALO Industry Days, in Bellerup, Denmark, on August 20–21, 2025. The event is organized by The Danish Ministry of Defense Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO). The CAVS 6×6 armoured vehicle will also be showcased at the event.
