Military Industries’ Imdadthon Celebrates 3 Innovative Teams Revolutionizing Supply Chain Technology
The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) today honored three inventive teams that distinguished themselves in delivering pioneering solutions to tackle challenges within the military industries’ supply chain segment. This acknowledgment occurred at the culmination of the technical innovation event “Imdadthon for Advancing Technical Solutions in Military Industries’ Supply Chains,” which transpired over two days in collaboration with the Innovation Hub at the Digital Government Authority (DGA) in Riyadh.
Imdadathon gathered over 40 participants from GAMI, companies active in the sector, and students from the National Academy of Military Industries. They vied to showcase inventive concepts aimed at boosting the efficiency of supply chains in the military industries landscape, encouraging technical innovation, facilitating digital transformation in the industry, and promoting an ethos of open innovation, all in alignment with the goals of localizing military industries.

His Excellency Eng. Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, Governor of GAMI, extended his commendations to the victorious teams and conveyed his appreciation to all participants for their vigorous competition and remarkable enthusiasm, which birthed promising ideas and solutions that will manifest as tangible advancements contributing to the growth of the military industries framework. This development will ultimately facilitate the realization of the objectives outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.
His Excellency Al-Ohali also expressed gratitude towards the Digital Government Authority for exemplifying an optimal model of national integration by hosting this technical innovation initiative at the Innovation Hub. This endeavor fosters the emergence of a new wave of pioneering national talents equipped with competitive prowess in devising technical solutions for supply chains in the military industries domain.

During the span of two days, participants immersed themselves in an exhaustive program that featured specialized lectures, design thinking workshops, brainstorming sessions aimed at generating innovative ideas, and the crafting of prototypes for proposed solutions. The competing teams showcased their inventive projects before a specialized evaluation panel. The event also presented two workshops on “Emerging Technologies in Supply Chains,” which spotlighted opportunities to harness contemporary technology and artificial intelligence in enhancing military supply chain efficiency, alongside essential elements of developing supply chains for military industries.
Throughout the competition, the participating teams focused on articulating the challenges, followed by a theoretical presentation on design thinking and its phases. The participants subsequently engaged in a practical activity to determine user requirements using design thinking instruments. Afterward, the teams were aided in articulating the challenges clearly based on these needs, crafting prototypes along with implementation strategies until their final design. Under the mentorship of specialized guides, fruitful proposals for innovative technical solutions were cultivated, culminating in presentations before a judging panel comprised of various experts and specialists.
The three triumphant teams that clinched the top ranks earned substantial prizes, while all participants were granted certificates of appreciation in recognition of their active involvement and valuable contributions.
Imdadthon emphasizes GAMI’s unwavering commitment to embracing cutting-edge technologies and cultivating technical innovation as a fundamental pillar for advancing the military industries sector in the Kingdom. It aims to amplify the sector’s role in bolstering the national economy, in alignment with the Saudi Digital Transformation Program towards a flourishing digital nation.
