Unveiling Innovation: CARACAL and ICOMM Launch Cutting-Edge Small Arms Factory in Hyderabad

CARACAL, a prominent small arms producer from the UAE and a division of EDGE Group, in partnership with ICOMM Tele Ltd, a subsidiary of Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL), has officially launched a state-of-the-art small arms manufacturing facility at ICOMM’s Integrated Engineering Facility in Hyderabad.

This specialized facility will act as a regional manufacturing center for an extensive array of sophisticated weaponry under a groundbreaking Technology Transfer (ToT) agreement with CARACAL, signifying a pivotal achievement in UAE–India defense collaboration.

Through this venture, the facility will manufacture:

• The battle-tested CAR 816 close-quarters combat rifle, chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO
• The exceptionally reliable CAR 817 assault rifle, chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO
• The lightweight CSR 338 bolt-action sniper rifle, chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum
• The agile CSR 308 bolt-action sniper rifle, chambered in .308 Winchester
• The precise CSR 50 bolt-action anti-material sniper rifle, chambered in 12.7x99mm NATO
• The contemporary CMP9 submachine gun, chambered in 9x19mm
• The adaptable CARACAL EF and CARACAL F GEN II combat pistols, chambered in 9x19mm

These cutting-edge weapons will fulfill the essential demands of the Indian Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Special Forces, State Police Forces, and the SPG, while also addressing CARACAL’s global export needs.
