ST Engineering Lands Major Defense Deal for Cutting-Edge Infantry Combat Vehicles

Singapore, 26 January 2026 – ST Engineering proudly announced a significant contract awarded by the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) in December 2025, focusing on the production and supply of next-generation Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs). This achievement highlights ST Engineering’s commitment to advancing defence solutions that adapt to changing operational requirements.

Set for progressive delivery starting in 2028, the IFVs will be developed on the cutting-edge Terrex s5 platform, the latest in the Group’s series of 8×8 armoured fighting vehicles. The Terrex s5 is designed with a future-ready approach, built around five essential pillars: Smartness, Superiority, Sustainability, Survivability, and Serviceability.

This next-generation vehicle builds on the successful lineage of the Terrex family, offering innovative capabilities, including:

  • Advanced digital systems that enhance situational awareness and operational efficiency
  • A cyber-secure Generic Vehicle Architecture that provides robust protection against cyber threats
  • Enhanced vehicle electronics coupled with improved firepower

ST Engineering will collaborate with MINDEF and the Defence Science and Technology Agency to integrate additional capabilities into the IFVs.

This state-of-the-art platform marks a significant advancement in land defence technology, seamlessly merging superior mobility, formidable firepower, and enhanced survivability to tackle the challenges of modern warfare.
