STM Unveils Cutting-Edge Innovations at NATO Summit

STM, a prominent innovator in cutting-edge technologies within the Turkish defense sector, will exhibit its solutions and engineering prowess in command, control, and decision-support systems to distinguished international delegations at the NATO Edge and I/TSEC events in the United States (USA).

STM Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Ticaret A.Ş., a trailblazer in the creation of innovative and advanced systems for the Turkish defense sector, continues to highlight its superior technological and engineering capabilities on the global arena.

STM will participate in NATO Edge 2024, organized by the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency), in Tampa, Florida, from December 3 to 5. STM will demonstrate its command and control proficiencies and initiatives at NATO Edge, NATO’s foremost technology event, which gathers NATO allies, tech innovators, and defense firms.

At the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), the world’s largest gathering for modeling, simulation, and training, STM will display its simulation and decision-support systems. Taking place in Orlando, Florida, from December 2 to 6, 2024, STM will present its solutions, particularly emphasizing the Simulation-Based Decision Support System (SIMDES), to attending delegations.

NATO Entrusts STM with Its Intelligence Software

STM has undertaken numerous significant engineering projects with high added value for NATO. The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency), responsible for the provision, implementation, and maintenance of communications and information systems for NATO leaders and commanders, has awarded STM two significant contracts pertaining to the routing, collection, dissemination, and utilization of intelligence data within NATO. Intelligence applications, progressively developed using the agile software development methodology based on user needs, will be employed to regulate the intelligence processes of NATO headquarters globally.

STM is actively engaged in NATO projects in command and control, having successfully finalized the NATO Integration Core (INT-CORE) Project, which provides enhanced situational awareness on the battlefield. INT-CORE delivers precise, timely information to decision-makers and integrates flawlessly with command and control processes, enabling the distribution of vital data on command operations, collective situational awareness, battlefield conditions, missions, and more. The NATO Integration Core (INT-CORE) has been effectively utilized for information integration and data lake development, most recently showcased during Exercise NATO CWIX 2024.

STM played a vital role in the technical solutions and development processes for NATO’s AirC2IS Project, NATO’s strategic-level air command and control and missile defense information system.

STM Enhances NATO’s Decision-Making Processes

STM has delivered 7 distinct exports to NATO in decision-support systems, offering strategic decision support services through the NATO Integrated Resilience Decision Support Model. This model, crafted by NATO, is designed to comprehend the effects of strategic shocks such as pandemics, extensive power outages, cyber threats, and human migrations. This model is essential for accurately evaluating the impacts of large-scale, intricate challenges and assisting decision-makers in creating effective strategies.

In the realm of tactical/operational decision support, STM remains instrumental with its Simulation-Based Decision Support System-SIMDES, developed entirely with national expertise. Following the Goodwill Protocol signed between STM and NATO’s Maritime Security Centre of Excellence in 2022, scenario analyses for the EXER MARSEC-23 Operational Experimentation (OPEX) exercise were conducted using SIMDES prior to field execution. SIMDES has also been effectively used in STM’s platform design and concept development activities, as well as in domestic initiatives.
