Revolutionizing Transport: Rheinmetall Set to Unveil Lynx KF41 IFVs for Ukraine by 2026

Rheinmetall Expands Support for Ukraine’s National Defence

Rheinmetall is set to enhance Ukraine’s military capabilities by providing additional national defence systems. As early as the start of 2026, Ukraine will be equipped with its first Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicles. This milestone follows a contract signed in December 2025, with the initial order of five combat vehicles valued in the mid double-digit millions of euros, financed by the Federal Republic of Germany.

Ukraine’s choice of the Lynx KF41 stemmed from comprehensive evaluations of this next-generation infantry fighting vehicle (IFV). These IFVs will include a two-man Lance turret and be specifically tailored for the needs of Ukraine’s armed forces. The next phase involves acquiring further batches, with plans for production to occur within Ukraine.

‘We are grateful for the trust that Ukraine has placed in us,’ stated Armin Papperger, CEO of Rheinmetall AG. ‘We also extend our gratitude to the German government for their steadfast support. This order marks a significant achievement that highlights our ongoing commitment to assist Ukraine.’

The Lynx KF41 combat vehicle family is engineered to address both current and future military requirements. Boasting maximum modularity, the Lynx KF41 features an open electronic architecture and offers the largest protected interior volume in its category. This design provides exceptional growth potential for future technologies and diverse mission profiles. Additionally, the vehicle’s scalable design and cutting-edge protection technology ensure a combination of mobility and safety. The Lynx also prioritizes crew ergonomics, facilitating efficient and comfortable operations even during extended missions.
