Cyberani and Thales Forge a Powerful Partnership to Fortify the Kingdom’s Cyber Defenses

Cyberani, a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco and a national leader in cybersecurity, has formed a strategic partnership with Thales, the largest tech conglomerate in Europe, to meet the cybersecurity demands of both private and public organizations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This strategic collaboration, formalized at LEAP 2024 by Mr. Saeed Al Saeed, CEO of Cyberani, and Mr. Pierre-Yves Jolivet, VP of Cyber Digital Solutions at Thales, aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. It highlights the crucial role of cybersecurity and digital frameworks in fostering a diversified and sustainable economy. The agreement was witnessed by Ahmad O. Al-Khowaiter, Executive Vice President of Technology & Innovation at Aramco, Tareq Amin, CEO of Aramco Digital, Dr. Wael Kanoun, Managing Director of Cyber Defense Solutions for Thales in KSA and the Middle East, and Bernard Roux, CEO of Thales in KSA. The Cyberani-Thales collaboration is expected to invigorate the local economy while enhancing the capabilities of Saudi Arabia’s digital and industrial sectors, aligning with the Kingdom’s sovereignty goals.

Given the escalating nature of cyber threats worldwide and the increasingly intricate compliance and regulatory frameworks, Cyberani and Thales will collaborate to tackle the cybersecurity landscape in the Kingdom, with an ambitious objective of generating USD 350 million in revenue from 2024 to 2030.

Following the acquisition of Imperva and supported by a team of over 5,800 cybersecurity professionals in 68 countries, Thales anticipates a revenue of USD 2.4 billion from cybersecurity in 2024.

By designating Thales as its preferred partner, Cyberani will capitalize on the tech giant’s expertise to safeguard essential Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure and operations for clients within the Kingdom.

The Cyberani-Thales partnership aims to deliver top-notch cybersecurity solutions to organizations across the nation, emphasizing critical sectors like Energy, Utilities, Aviation, Transportation, Space, Finance, and Smart Cities.

Additionally, Thales will extend its support to Cyberani by offering cybersecurity services for Aramco and its affiliates in international locations, particularly those beyond the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“We are ecstatic and honored by the formation of this exceptional alliance. It represents a transformative initiative that will greatly impact the progress of cybersecurity and resilience development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Through this partnership, Cyberani will deliver exemplary cybersecurity solutions to entities in KSA. By leveraging this collaboration with Thales and the broader Aramco ecosystem, Cyberani will emerge as the leading OT cybersecurity provider in the Kingdom,” stated Mr. Saeed Al Saeed, CEO of Cyberani.

“Investing in the digital framework is vital for realizing the overarching goal of Vision 2030, aiming for a diversified, digital, resilient, and knowledge-driven economy. We are enthusiastic about the partnership with Cyberani and the opportunities and capabilities that our combined efforts will introduce to the Saudi market. We are dedicated to strengthening the nation’s defense against cyber threats, protecting vital infrastructure, and advancing digital resilience for a secure and prosperous future. With an active presence in the Kingdom for over 50 years, at Thales, our mission remains to build a future that we can all trust,” Pierre-Yves Jolivet, VP of Cyber Digital Solutions at Thales
