“Forging Alliances: EDGE and Fincantieri Unite in Innovative Partnership at IDEX 2023”
EDGE entity Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB), a frontrunner in the design, construction, repair, maintenance, refitting, and transformation of naval and commercial vessels, alongside Fincantieri, one of the premier shipbuilding conglomerates globally, today formalized an Industrial Collaboration Agreement at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2023).
According to the stipulations of the agreement, EDGE and Fincantieri will collaborate on the design, production, and management of military and commercial fleets, as well as generating new business prospects in local and global markets through innovative, value-added technological solutions.
The agreement was ratified by Khalid Al Breiki, President of Platforms & Systems at EDGE and Vice Chairman of ADSB, alongside Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO of Fincantieri, in the presence of His Excellency Mattar Salem Ali Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Defence, Senator Isabella Rauti, Italian Undersecretary of State for Defence, Lorenzo Fanara, Italian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Lieutenant General Luciano Portolano, Italian Secretary General of Defence and National Armaments Director, General Claudio Graziano, Chairman of Fincantieri, Mansour Almulla, Managing Director & CEO of EDGE Group, and David Massey, CEO of ADSB during a ceremony at IDEX 2023.
During the event, Khalid Al Breiki expressed: “We are extremely satisfied to formalize this Industrial Collaboration Agreement with Fincantieri and are eager to collaboratively explore new opportunities while delivering an enhanced offering to our clientele both locally and on an international scale.”
Pierroberto Folgiero remarked: “This Agreement exemplifies the alignment of ADSB and Fincantieri’s goals in the UAE and signifies a critical opportunity to harness synergies that will facilitate joint consolidation and growth. With the establishment of the forthcoming NewCo, fully owned by the Group, this further affirms our unwavering commitment to bolstering our presence and reputation in the UAE.”
