AL TARIQ and HAL Forge a Strategic Partnership for Enhanced Platform Synergy
EDGE Group entity, AL TARIQ, a premier developer and manufacturer of highly versatile long-range precision-guided munitions (LR-PGMs), has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a frontrunner in the design, development, production, supply, and upkeep of aircraft, helicopters, engines, aerospace apparatus, avionics, and associated gear for both military and civilian sectors. This MoU was formalized during Aero India 2023, the largest aerospace exhibition in Asia, taking place at the Yelahanka Air Base, Bengaluru, until 17th February.
As part of the MoU, AL TARIQ will investigate the potential for integrating their range of LR-PGMs onto HAL platforms to enhance mission adaptability.
During the signing ceremony, Theunis Botha, CEO of AL TARIQ, remarked: “AL TARIQ and HAL will collaborate to examine the incorporation of the AL TARIQ series of modular, long-range, all-weather, day/night, precision munitions on HAL’s fixed-wing aircraft. By partnering with HAL, a top manufacturer of cutting-edge military aircraft, we can deliver to customers a LR-PGM that ensures extended stand-off ranges and enhanced safety.
“Moreover, we eagerly anticipate providing a distinctive, modular LR-PGM solution that will broaden and refine the aerial strike capabilities of the end-user.”
Mr. S Krishna Kumar, Executive Director (Aircraft Research & Design Centre) of HAL, stated: “Integration of high precision, long-range, specialized munitions will enhance the lethality of our fighter aircraft. The ARDC, in collaboration with other stakeholders, will assess the opportunities for integrating AL TARIQ’s LR-PGM solution into Indian-origin fixed-wing aircraft.”
