“EDGE Group Unites with São José dos Campos: A New Era of Collaboration Begins”

EDGE, a prominent player in advanced technology and defense sectors globally, has established a comprehensive partnership agreement with the local government of São José dos Campos in São Paulo, Brazil. This agreement will encompass collaborative efforts in advanced technology, smart cities, education, and talent enhancement. This initiative bolsters EDGE’s footprint in the strategically vital Latin American market, offering a significant advantage to its commercial aspirations across Brazil and the regional defense landscape.

The Memorandum of Understanding was formalized by Anderson Farias, the Mayor of São José dos Campos, and Rodrigo Torres, CFO of EDGE Group, at the Mayor’s office at City Hall.

São José dos Campos is Brazil’s leading industrial manufacturing and technology center, hosting the nation’s largest aerospace and defense enterprises, including SIATT, a specialist in smart weapons and high-tech systems, in which EDGE acquired a 50% interest in 2023. The city also boasts several of Brazil’s top universities and technology and research institutions.

Rodrigo Torres, CFO of EDGE Group, stated: “EDGE is embarking on a new growth trajectory in Brazil and the broader region, and the valuable alliances we have cultivated with pivotal stakeholders and local administrations are establishing the framework from which we can reap significant rewards. A prime illustration of this collaboration is this agreement with São José dos Campos, a globally acknowledged center of innovation and technical prowess, which will empower us to achieve our commercial targets, enhance the local economy, and foster sustainable development in advanced technology and the nurturing of exceptional talent. On behalf of EDGE Group, I express my sincere gratitude to the Mayor and the citizens of this progressive city.”

Together with the Government of the State of São Paulo, the local administration of São José dos Campos has been entirely supportive of EDGE’s introduction into the Brazilian market, creating an auspicious setting for growth and job generation, while ensuring the group can leverage the region’s strong supply chains. Furthermore, alongside EDGE, SIATT is currently in the midst of enlarging its headquarters and manufacturing facilities in the city from 1,000 square meters to nearly 7,000 square meters, creating over 800 related job opportunities.
