The UAE’s EDGE, a prominent global leader in advanced technology and defense sectors, has proclaimed a significant investment in High Lander, the firm behind Universal UTM, a drone-agnostic unmanned traffic management system that delivers the automation, coordination, and security essential in increasingly congested airspaces. The US$14 million investment establishes a pioneering alliance and is already forging ongoing contracts and high-value prospects in both military and civilian fields with some of the world’s leading technology suppliers, as both entities advance along their unique blueprints.

In alignment with its international expansion strategy, EDGE, which boasts an impressive collection of 20 synergistic entities, is concentrating on the evolution of autonomous frameworks, encompassing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), intelligent weapons, and cyber solutions. The group is eager to further support High Lander in cultivating its next-generation Universal UTM solution, which facilitates the secure coexistence of manned and unmanned aviation. EDGE intends to leverage Universal UTM for the oversight of autonomous operations.
