“Unleashing Innovation: Kraken and L3Harris Join Forces for USSV Advancement”

Kraken Technology Group is thrilled to declare an official partnership with L3Harris Technologies aimed at enhancing the integration of control systems within the K40 MANTA prototype.

This represents a crucial milestone in the technological progression of Kraken’s K40 MANTA platform, establishing the groundwork for the creation of improved autonomous functionalities and ultimately achieving full autonomy.

The K40 is an uncrewed surface-subsurface vessel (USSV) that employs foils for swift surface movement before diving for secretive operations. This high-performance craft demands well-proven, state-of-the-art control systems, and L3Harris has the essential components and expertise required for flawless incorporation into the K40 MANTA. These integrated systems will empower remote control of the uncrewed vessel for engineering assessments, foil advancements, powertrain tuning, and exhibitions prior to enhancements in later development phases.

“We eagerly anticipate collaborating with L3Harris on the execution of key systems for K40 MANTA as a foundation for future innovations,” stated Mal Crease, Founder and CEO of Kraken Technology Group.

“L3Harris takes pride in joining forces with Kraken on this revolutionary platform,” commented Mark Exeter, Managing Director, ASV, L3Harris. “Our two firms possess complementary expertise, benefiting both entities through this collaboration. Moreover, this partnership opens avenues for wider cooperation, leveraging our shared knowledge and further supported by our closeness to Portsmouth, a distinguished UK marine innovation center.”
