Kraken Technology Group has revealed a strategic alliance with Cosworth focused on the creation of cutting-edge battery solutions for its littoral defense and security portfolio.
Cosworth, a UK-based high-performance engineering firm, is celebrated for its expertise in powertrain development, electronics, and alternative propulsion solutions across the automotive, marine, and aerospace industries.
The initial emphasis is on the Kraken MANTA platform, a series of autonomous uncrewed surface and subsurface vessels specifically engineered to meet the expanding requirements for ISR missions and deployment capabilities. As recognized authorities in electric technology, Cosworth will collaborate closely with Kraken on the innovation of advanced battery systems, designed to power Kraken maritime platforms in swifter, more efficient, and groundbreaking manners.
Kraken’s electric propulsion proficiency was forged in 2018 when it remarkably shattered the UIM Outright Maritime Electric Speed World Record, achieving an average velocity of
88.61 mph during a widely covered event at Coniston. This landmark achievement laid the groundwork for the evolution and adaptation of racing technologies for defense and security purposes.
