Defense Innovations: MoD Secures 28 Groundbreaking Contracts at Global Defense Expo

Ministry of Defense Signs 28 Strategic Contracts at World Defense Show

In a significant step towards enhancing national defense capabilities, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) has finalized 28 contracts with both local and international military industry leaders at the World Defense Show in Riyadh.

His Excellency Dr. Khaled bin Hussein Al Biyari, the Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs, signed four pivotal contracts with the CEOs of notable firms such as MBDA, Raytheon Saudi Arabia, Hanwha Aerospace, and Leonardo.

Additionally, Dr. Al Biyari observed the signing of eight contracts led by Ibrahim bin Ahmed Alsuwaiyed, the Deputy Minister of Defense for Procurement and Armament, involving key executives from local, French, Turkish, Korean, and Italian companies.

Moreover, the agreements encompassed sixteen other contracts executed by executive general directors at the Procurement and Armament Deputyship, establishing strong partnerships with various defense companies.

The objectives of these contracts are clear: to bolster the military readiness of the Armed Forces, enhance operational capabilities, increase combat efficiency, and ensure the sustainability of defense systems. Furthermore, this initiative supports the localization of manufacturing as part of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to localize over 50% of military equipment and services expenditures.
