HAVELSAN: Revolutionizing Comprehensive Defense Solutions
HAVELSAN, recognized for its expertise in Command Control and Defense Technologies, Simulation and Autonomous Platform Management Technologies, and Information and Communication Technologies, has established itself as an international contender associated with state-of-the-art technologies. The innovative products, sophisticated solutions, and progressive technologies that HAVELSAN conceives and creates address the ever-changing demands of the global defense sector.
HAVELSAN’s validated solutions and systems are the guarantees for the groundbreaking technologies it innovates and intends to develop. Progressive systems like ADVENT empower HAVELSAN to showcase its expertise and create new advancements such as the Digital Troops concept to satisfy the requirements of contemporary combat environments. On one hand, standing as a key asset of HAVELSAN, ADVENT is the exclusive system chosen and utilized by the Turkish and allied naval forces. Conversely, new technologies crafted by HAVELSAN translate into innovations through novel concepts, exemplified by HAVELSAN Digital Troops, which consist of autonomous land and sea systems known as BARKAN, KAPGAN, and BAHA.

ADVENT NETWORK-ENABLED NAVAL COMBAT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
HAVELSAN aims to enhance the deterrent capacity of the Turkish Naval Forces, acting as their strategic ally in the Combat Management System (CMS) sector. ADVENT has been designed in a modular format that allows adaptation to various platform types with distinct missions. As a platform-agnostic system with its expandable open architecture, it can be integrated into surface, underwater, air platforms, and land-based stations. The primary objective of ADVENT is to support the network-enabled operational requirements of a task force, alongside the traditional self-defense capabilities of individual vessels.
ADVENT emphasizes the force structure rather than individual ships. For every platform, a tailored CMS can be assembled by integrating relevant modules from “shared capabilities,” “platform-specific capabilities,” and “weapon/sensor systems integration solutions.” Platforms equipped with ADVENT act collectively through Network Enabled Capability (NEC) during operational execution, enhancing efficiency and success rates. Tactical training can also be facilitated through the system, boasting full integration with diverse weaponry and sensor systems from various sources.
The outstanding advantage of ADVENT lies in its collaborative development process, which has engaged the Turkish Navy from design through to testing. It has been constructed in concert with end-users, rather than simply incorporating data/specifications gathered from them. ADVENT, in its current iteration, stands as an unparalleled combat management system globally, “developed collaboratively with the Naval Forces for the Naval Forces.” As a legitimate source of pride for HAVELSAN and Türkiye, ADVENT possesses capabilities that transcend contemporary standards and has secured its position among the combat management systems utilized by global navies. ADVENT is prepared to operate on a worldwide scale as the Combat Management System for all subsurface, surface, and aerial platforms of Naval Forces and Coast Guards undergoing construction and modernization today and in the future.

HAVELSAN DIGITAL TROOPS
Leveraging over 40 years of simulation experience, HAVELSAN introduces its capabilities through the Digital Troops concept in robotic and autonomous technologies. Unmanned systems have become essential components of contemporary combat arenas due to the escalating complexity and strategic significance of battle technologies. These systems play an influential role in operations by seamlessly incorporating autonomous features, advanced weaponry, and sensor systems, alongside surveillance and reconnaissance missions. Unmanned Ground Vehicles serve as crucial force multipliers for military units amidst diverse threats and shifting environmental conditions, particularly in close combat scenarios.
BARKAN has been engineered to meet the demands of modern combat environments. Featuring remote control and autonomous operational capabilities, BARKAN offers essential mission support to military units. With its swarm technology, coordinated operations with other manned or unmanned ground and aerial vehicles are achievable from a unified command center. BARKAN’s superior autonomous features and modular design allow for multi-purpose missions, accommodating various payloads.
KAPGAN is an Autonomous Middle Class-2 UGV crafted to accompany troops in diverse missions, excelling particularly in challenging environments. In addition to advanced payload options such as the Upgradable Perimeter Surveillance System, the integration of a 30 mm Gun with a 2 km effective range provides substantial deterrence with its armor-piercing capability against land and aerial targets. KAPGAN performs an array of tasks from transporting military gear and casualty evacuations to conducting surveillance, reconnaissance, and impact assessments.
Equipped with a tactical data link stretching 5 kilometers, GSM and satellite communication capabilities, a 4-meter Upgradable Peripheral Surveillance System, and high-tech sensors, this remarkable UGV excels in environmental detection, ensuring successful day/night reconnaissance and surveillance missions. The vehicle’s integrated wired or wireless drone can serve as a relay when range limitations exist. Moreover, continuous communication via the drone-integrated modem enhances the system’s reconnaissance and surveillance prowess.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are aerial systems designed to undertake a range of missions autonomously or under operator supervision. Tailored to satisfy the requirements of modern military units, BAHA is a fixed-wing Sub-Cloud Autonomous UAV capable of executing joint operations with all unmanned systems thanks to its vertical take-off and landing capabilities, fully autonomous operational capacity, and modular design for integrating various payloads.
This system, powered by a petrol engine during horizontal flight, is augmented by electric motors for vertical take-off and landing. Capable of soaring to altitudes of 10,000 feet, BAHA can stay airborne for up to six hours with the petrol engine and up to two hours on electric power. With an expansive wingspan, it can carry payloads up to 5 kg. Designed for easy deployment by two individuals and operation by one, BAHA can be mission-ready in mere minutes.
