ARQUUS: Elevating Equestrian Forces to New Heights
As a vital partner of the French Army, with more than 25,000 vehicles actively deployed, ARQUUS was presenting at the Journée de l’Arme Blindée Cavalerie (Armor and Cavalry Day), which took place in Satory on October 7th, 2019.
ARQUUS launched its VBL Ultima, an enhanced variant of the VBL currently under development, along with its T1 and T2 remote-operated weapon systems. These innovations are part of the Scorpion initiative, featuring cutting-edge energy management and automation solutions.
ARQUUS’s history is deeply linked with the cavalry. From the AMD to the AML, and from the EBR to the VBL, ARQUUS’s armored solutions are the result of exceptional knowledge in protection and maneuverability, refined over a century by pioneering engineers and artisans, in partnership with military strategists to meet the Army’s needs.
Dedicated to assisting the Army in its various transformations and actively engaging in discussions about the future of land warfare, ARQUUS has created a broad spectrum of vehicles utilizing its own resources. Some, like the ERC-90 Sagaie, have been adopted by the armed forces and served effectively for decades.
Highly esteemed by the Army and chosen by numerous governmental forces globally, ARQUUS’s reconnaissance and light cavalry vehicles have participated in conflicts across diverse operational theaters. The partnership with cavalry is further bolstered through the Griffon and Jaguar vehicles developed in collaboration with Nexter and Thales as part of the Scorpion program.
ARQUUS’s story is intricately woven with the legacy of these renowned armored vehicles. Proven in combat and recognized globally, they are crucial to the Army’s worldwide operations. This story is propelled by a steadfast commitment to support the cavalry through all its transitions, aiming to meet the operational demands of the Arme Blindée Cavalerie (French Armor and Cavalry) in a rapidly changing environment full of advancements and new challenges.
In response to the requirements of armed forces, ARQUUS strives to upgrade and modernize its vehicles, enhancing operational capabilities, tactical effectiveness, autonomy, and soldiers’ resilience in the field.
To demonstrate its commitment to supporting forces throughout the lifecycle of their vehicles, ARQUUS unveiled the VBL Ultima. This next-gen VBL, the result of a modernization initiative for the VBL (Véhicule Blindé Léger, Light Armored Vehicle), is designed for compatibility with the vehicles of the Scorpion program across all operational contexts.
During Cavalry Day, ARQUUS also showcased the T1 and T2 remote-operated weapon systems, fundamental components of the Scorpion project. These Remote Controlled Weapon Stations (RCWS), intended to equip the Griffon in 2019 and the Jaguar in 2021, leverage state-of-the-art technologies and robust connectivity with vetronics, placing them at the center of collaborative combat.
Entirely manufactured in France, the T1 and T2 symbolize the foundational elements of a strategic small-caliber sector, ready to support and facilitate the Army’s evolution.
ARQUUS dedicates all its energy and expertise to envisioning and constructing the future cavalry. In 2017, the firm began developing the Scarabee, ARQUUS’s vision of the future reconnaissance and scouting vehicle, relying on its own resources. Drawing from the lessons of its predecessors and the company’s proficiency in military innovation management, the Scarabee embodies the ambition to collaboratively design the future cavalry alongside the Army.
