BAE and ELTA Systems Triumph in Groundbreaking Manned-Unmanned Teaming Trials with ACV!

BAE Systems has successfully executed manned-unmanned collaboration (MUM-T) on the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) C4UAS as a technological demonstration utilizing IAI/ELTA Systems Ltd’s Rex MK II Unmanned Infantry Combat Support System.

The collaboration technology boosts mission efficacy through enhanced situational awareness and decision-making abilities.

The successful exhibition of MUM-T capabilities highlights the adaptability of the integrated growth potential in the ACV C4UAS. The capacity to integrate MUM-T into mission planning broadens mission parameters and tactical scope while minimizing the risk to human and technological resources in unpredictable or hostile settings.

“This marks an exhilarating new chapter to showcase the growth potential of the ACV C4UAS,” stated Garrett Lacaillade, vice president of the Amphibious Vehicles product line at BAE Systems. “Integrating an unmanned system like the Rex enhances situational awareness, bolsters mission success, and mitigates risk to our Marines.”

The ACV is a versatile amphibious platform designed to fulfill the operational demands of the Marine Corps, accommodating new functionalities as technology advances, such as reconnaissance, electronic warfare, anti-air operations, and uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) integration. Developed in collaboration with Iveco Defence Vehicles, the ACV represents a distinctive combination of genuine open-ocean amphibious capability, land mobility, survivability, payload capacity, and growth opportunities.

The Rex MK II system is an unmanned autonomous vehicle that delivers direct assistance to maneuvering infantry formations. It can execute a range of functions, including tactical logistic support, tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), utilizing lethal weapons through target acquisition and evacuating injured Marines.

ACV production and support operations are conducted at BAE Systems facilities located in: Stafford, Virginia; San Jose, California; Sterling Heights, Michigan; Aiken, South Carolina; York, Pennsylvania; and Phoenix, Arizona.
